Symposium Scope

Owing to their size and unique properties, nanomaterials are an emerging class of material for biomedical applications. Recently, the application of nanomaterials in medicine has gone from potential to reality. There are now many prominent examples of nanomaterials being used to improve human health. The range of applications is enormous, including diagnostics, therapeutics and regenerative medicine. At the same time, common themes emerge when discussing the challenges and opportunities of implementing nanomaterials in medicine. Indeed, one of the biggest issues is how to effectively translate promising nanomaterials from the laboratory research to clinical use.

In this symposium, we will hear from leading experts in the field of nanomaterials and how they bridge the gap between fundamental science and translational biomedical research.
