Symposium Scope

Contributions covering a scope from smart materials, material–critical sensors & transducers, to their applications:

  • Smart materials with response to various stimuli or environmental/condition changes
  • Materials with intelligent signal/energy transduction functions
  • Compositions, micro/nano- and molecular structures for enhanced responses to stimuli and ambient changes
  • Sensing, imaging, energy conversion and actuation mechanisms in functional materials
  • Ferroics, fluorescences, chromatics, plasmonics, THz wave technologies, and their applications for sensing, imaging, and signal/energy conversions
  • Piezoelectric materials, electro-active materials, shape memory materials, smart fluids, and phase change materials
  • Acoustic, ultrasonic, laser ultrasonic, and photoacoustic non-destructive testing, imaging and diagnosis
  • Coupling/conversion mechanisms in materials among optical (electromagnetic), mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and thermal multi-parameters, and their applications for sensors, actuators, and transducers
  • Applications of materials for sensing, imaging, detection, actuation, and energy transduction
  • Material-critical sensors, actuators, and transducers, and their applications
  • Material-critical MEMS and NEMS (micro/nano- electromechanical systems), and applications
